BTAN is seeking youth artists for Creative Black Futures!
The Black Transformative Arts Network invites youth artists from all artistic disciplines to participate in our third annual Creative Black Futures: Youth Arts Exhibition and Showcase.
BTAN is a collaborative community of artists, educators, and culture workers who focus on supporting and connecting Black-Africana youth artists, teaching artists, and educators to build a transformative, creative community for Black-Africana children.
Youth practicing artists from all disciplines are invited to apply. This year’s showcase and exhibition will take place Sunday August 17th at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater and will feature 20-25 artists ages 13-24 who dance, sing, rap, write, draw, paint, perform poetry, practice theatre, play instruments, craft sculptures and more! If you or someone you know is interested, must apply no later than March 21, 2025.
Youth performers who are selected to participate in the showcase are also expected to participate in the adjoining 4-part Artist Development workshop series, where they will receive guidance and instruction around their artistic medium, and have the opportunity to rehearse and network with other young artists.
